Goodbyes
Posted by Kelley:
Our last session of VBS! The day started with a devotion from Mark 10:13-16 about how we should be like children when we enter the Kingdom of God. It related to the day because we can learn things about God through a child's innocence and trust. After breakfast, we headed off to the camp El Nathan where we were joyfully greeted by kids. After some free time, we proceeded into the chapel where we sang some fun songs to wake us up. Relay races followed Nicole's testimony. A yummy edible craft of making "joyful faces" with Twizzlers, Oreos, and M&M's was tons of fun. After the craft, a crazy game was played where the object of the game was to be the first person to put on a frozen t-shirt. It was very funny to watch! More songs and testimony's from Heather and Daniel Montgomery filled the day before a monstrous lunch! Lunch was leftover lasagna from last night, leftover chinese from wednesday, fresh hot dogs, and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. What a feast! We were back at the camp at 2:00 for a volleyball game and preparation for the evening's concert. After enjoying a bluegrass music concert around 6, we cleaned up the camp and headed back to Indian Bible College. Mixed emotions filled the hearts of us as we said goodbye to the children that we put all our energy into serving the past few days. We were happily surprised to find out that Pastor James was taking us all out to Dairy Queen and allowing a 2 am curfew where we dug splinters out of each other!!!

Hey, it was kind of quiet in church without you this morning. And without Pastor Jason, who's on vacation. And without the choir. Shawn and the praise ensemble led worship, but they must have felt lonely up there because they invited Pastors Jonathan and Luis join them leading a song...(with their mics turned off !!!)

We really miss you around here. The comissioning at church went great but we missed you, Kelly, Jacqui and Aleks. The Brazil meeting @ 9:30 this morning went very well I thought. Pastor Bill did a wonderful job ironing out all the necessary details. I heard somebody in the background say at one point "James is rubbing of on Pastor Bill." It was funny!
Pastor Luis and Alma took the girls and I to lunch, that was very sweet of them. Tonight I have 7 girls from the Yellow Brazil team coming over for dinner and I'm looking forward to that.
With all this said, I wanted you to know it just wasn't the same sitting in church by myself this morning. I love you with all my heart and can't wait 'til Wednesday.
Praying for you and the team daily, anxious to hear all the stories of what God is doing there in Arizona.
Tanya
Breanna was still awake at 11:20pm last night crying saying she missed daddy.... she's definetly daddy's little girl!!

Sounds like you all are having a great and blessed experience. I've got to tell you that you all are such a huge inspriration to all those kids and yes even to us "big kids". We are all very proud of you and we know that you will carry this positive experience and what God has taught you throughout your lives!

Hi Jacqui,
Hope everything is well with you. Your photos are great. I love seeing you with the kids. Church was good - the commissioning went well. James was home sick and is still feeling yucky. Pray for him. We are getting ready for Brazil. Everything's coming together great. Will be good to have you home soon. I love you

So happy to read your daily reports and see how God is blessing you with so much FUN. Isn't it great how He fulills His promises to us by giving us soooo much?!! HE blesses us abundantly especially when, as you are doing, we give of ourselves.
I love u Kel and miss just hanging out with u. The waves at the beach were HUGE due to Hurricane Dennis: a rare RED swim flag (no swimming) was up. Only the most adventurous surfers went out. Obviously that does not include Daniel and I but we did take a swim yesterday. The wind was so strong blowing the sand around and stinging us - lots of fun!!
Continue to enjoy every minute, guys. But, make sure you eat a ton and get at least some daily rest.
